SLR digital Profesional dengan format baru FX, sangat sensitif, kualitas gambar dan respon kecepatan  yang sangat tinggi. Tokyo - Nikon Corporation mengumumkan  generasi terbaru SLR digital profesional D3. Di lengkapi dengan sensor gambar CMOS besar yang di kembangkan oleh Nikon, Fitur D3 efektif 12.1 Mega pixel dan ISO dimulai dari 200 sampai 6400 pada penyetelan normal. Sebagai system pemeroses gambar, konsep keseluruhan pemroses digunakan EXPEED, dimana semua kemapuan dan teknologi yang dikuasai Nikon di aplikasikan  secara optimal. D3 memberikan gambar yang berkualitas dan kecepatan memproses gambar yang tinggi yang belum pernah ada pada SLR digital terdahulu. D3 sanggup mengambil gambar 12.1 megapixel  dalam 9 frame per detik dan tambahan saat menggunakan [DX format (24 x 16)] (5.1 megapixels) memungkinkan  mencapai 11 frame per detik. Dengan fitur canggih pada kualitas gambar, sensititifas dan kecepatan, D3 mampu menyesuaikan banyak karakter berbeda terkait dengan permintaan dari pelanggan termasuk para profesional.
